Job overview To provide a comprehensive range of secretarial and administrative support to a multidisciplinary team of practitioners. To undertake responsibility for the day to day management of the administrative, clerical and secretarial functions associated with a multi-disciplinary team.
This includes working and acting on own initiative and dealing with potentially complex situations. To consistently deliver a client focussed service, which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.
Main duties of the job The Medic Support will help coordinate an administrative team, including supporting the multidisciplinary team with projects and gathering information. They will have daily liaison with a wide range of staff at all levels and regular contact with people who use services and their carers, who may at times be distressed. The Team PA is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the office environment for the multi-disciplinary team of practitioners. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Assessment and Treatment Service for a part-time Band 4 Medic Support. We are looking for a well-organized, efficient medical secretary with excellent secretarial skills to become part of the administration team based in Sussex. Preferably you will have experience in a medical setting or considerable secretarial experience elsewhere. You will have an RSA II or equivalent qualification or proven audio/copy typing experience plus well-developed communication, organisational and time management skills. An ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment is essential. The ability to lead and supervise a team to ensure the needs of the service are met is essential. Supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
You must have current experience and a good standard of audio typing skills (60wpm minimum). You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including ‘Outlook’. Experience in the use of databases is desirable.
Hours: 30.00 hours per week – working 4 days a week between Monday-Friday 0900-1700.
