Join an industry-leading organization at the forefront of nuclear energy technology. My client are committed to supporting the UK’s goal of Net Zero. They are seeking a talented and dedicated Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor and play a crucial role in shaping the future of clean energy.

The Health, Safety and Environment advisor shall maintain, continuously improve and provide governance and oversight of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance for a distributed team across the Nuclear sector

Key Responsibilities:

·         Promote and ensure safety in the workplace, responsible for helping to keep the projects safe for everyone who works there. This includes developing programs to prevent injuries, conducting inspections and audits of new and on-going Projects across the sector.

·         Investigating accidents and incidents to capture learning with the aim of prevention in the future.

·         Providing appropriate training and toll box talks on health and safety, dangers, addressing unsafe work behaviours or other concerns including any relevant OPEX briefs.

Monitor and maintain suitable steps to ensure that the Project(s) complies with all relevant local site and regulations regarding safety procedures.

Review both internal and external risk assessment and method statements (RAMS) prior to them being used in the field to determine possible risks that need addressing and if necessary, you’ll recommend changes to equipment, operations procedures or other areas of concern to eliminate hazards.

Understand and Embed client processes within the teams across the sector where required.

Qualifications:

Membership to a professional body such as IOSH or equivalent professional qualification highly desirable.

A NEBOSH qualification as a minimum requirement.

Fully versed in modern HSE management techniques within complex, multi-functional organisations.

Substantial experience within H&S Management in an operational setting, including method statements, accident/incident investigation, knowledge of current HSE and CDM legislation and proficiency in the use of H&S Management.

Security Vetting Level of BPSS and CTC Required with SC clearance highly desirable.

A solid appreciation of company and external standards, procedures, and legislation for HSE with Nuclear Safety appreciation beneficial.

Capable of operating across a distributed sector, building networks of influence, and influencing others without direct control.

Demonstrable record of success in leading improvements across a complex, multiple project portfolio in an operational environment, preferably in the nuclear industry.
