Eden Scott are pleased to be supporting Realise Energy with the appointment of a Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with Civils / Electrical Installation or Renewable Energy experience to join an exciting company and further develop their career.
Due to unprecedented growth in our UK wind turbine service and maintenance business, Realise Energy Services Ltd are looking for an experienced and capable individual to join our existing team in order to strengthen and extend our wind turbine supply, installation and maintenance services.
The Role:
We're looking for a Project Manager with a technical background in wind energy and proven experience in Project Management to join the team. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will have responsibility for managing the complete lifecycle of wind turbine projects from inception, through design, planning and construction. You will have responsibility for a range of projects that may be in different stages of development. This position is predominantly based at our company premises in Perth for operational requirements.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Taking overall ownership of wind turbine supply and installation projects ensuring successful delivery of the contracted scope of services including project planning, team management, health and safety, risk assessment and mitigation, procurement and supply chain in line with agreed project
- Managing and driving each project from initial design to hand over of an operational asset to the customer overseeing and controlling product supply, civil and electrical BoP work through to turbine delivery and installation while overseeing site planning, preparation and execution in line with agreed project
- Planning and scheduling each stage of the project to ensure cost efficiency, time optimisation, safety, compliance and quality assurance
- Procurement and resource management - working with colleagues to cost, source and supply the required products and materials in line with agreed budgets and payment schedules, liaising with suppliers and third party contractors and stakeholders ensuring all required resources are available in line with project schedules and requirements to avoid delays and cost
- Team co-ordination - manage all aspects of project development and delivery to ensureclear communication between all project stakeholders including customers, contractors, DNOs, suppliers and internal staff to achieve project milestones. Acting as the key point of contact and the central hub of information, to facilitate effective communication betweenall parties ensuring that everyone is aligned and that any issues or changes are promptly
- Quality control and assurance - implement robust quality assurance processes and conduct regular inspections to guarantee the highest quality of workmanship throughoutthe project and to ensure full compliance with health and safety and other industry
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience of project management or managing technical operations, ideally with an onshore wind background
- Proven experience of the successful preparation and management of project budgets, contracts management and an understanding of the commercial aspects of any project
- Higher education in an engineering discipline, project management or other relevant fields would be desirable
- Industry knowledge is hugely desirable, ie wind turbine project delivery, wind turbine technology and wind farm
- Evidence of technical competence, self-motivation, ability to use own initiative, flexible, problem-solving approach
- Experience of working under pressure within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely, both verbally & written with ability to explain technical issues to a range of parties including customers, contractors and other project stakeholders
- The successful candidate will be required to produce and review technical reports and budgets for internal review and external parties including customers, so accuracy and attention to detail is paramount
- Able to collate, analyse and act upon complex and diverse information from a variety of sources and give advice for project level decision making
- IOSH or NEBOSH is desirable
- A valid driving license and willingness to travel is essential
