We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking to recruit a Licensing Technician in the Birmingham area. This is a hybrid position.
**MUST HAVE TAXI LICENSING EXPERIENCE**
Vacancy is for 5 posts: Hours 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday. Hybrid role. NO DBS - The licensing system is currently in the process of being replaced (thereby removing the inefficiencies of the hybrid system) . To this end – we are seeking to take on 5 licensing officers for a minimum three months – to take on tasks relating to processing and issuing hackney carriage and private hire licences.
Experience
Extensive experience of dealing with the public.
Recent administrative/clerical/reception experience.
Skills and Abilities
Must be able to demonstrate ability in the following areas:
Ability to produce letters, standard and non-standard and answering queries from Council Departments, members of the public, external agencies and organisations.
Ability to produce appeal witness/witness statements.
Verbal Communication Skills
Ability to give & receive information, either by telephone or face-face, in a clear, accurate manner, ensuring effective two-way communication. Ability to deal with members of the public with tact and diplomacy in stressful situations.
Keyboard Skills
Use of personal computers to input, retrieve and interpret information.
Organisational Skills
An ability to organise and prioritise workloads within a changing and flexible environment. The ability to work on your own initiative.
Team Working
Ability to work and interact within a team environment.
