AVL Powertrain UK Ltd offers a job in the United Kingdom (GB) as
AVL is the world's largest privately owned and independent company for the development of powertrain systems with internal combustion engines, E-mobility applications as well as instrumentation and test systems.
AVL is seeking an experienced engineer with proactive attitude, and who is a highly motivated self-learner. You will be responsible for developing, validating, and signing off the future generation of various vehicle systems and features.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role requires working with other team members and the customer to deliver projects according to plan. This will include the following key activities:
• Support vehicle control system related hardware and software requirements development.
• Engage with suppliers and other stake holders to review hardware and software attributes.
• Participate in quality and robustness activities (i.e. FMEA, fault tree analysis, boundary diagram).
• Support the development of the Electrical and Electronic architectures.
• Validate and sign-off of vehicle system and interactions with other subsystems.
• Debug and troubleshoot new software and calibration deliveries.
YOUR PROFILE:
Essential:
• Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Control Engineering or similar.
• Automotive engineering knowledge / experience in design, validation and integration for vehicle powertrain systems.
• Knowledge of hybrid and electric components fundamentals.
• Relevant engineering experience (ideally Systems Engineering).
• Ability to comprehensively understand customer requirements and follow product development processes.
• Ability to carry out activities in product qualification to international automotive standards.
• Analytical and conceptual capabilities.
• Good written and oral English.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness and ability to interface constructively with a global team.
Preferable:
• Experience in vehicle and feature requirements, design, integration, test, verification and control or a higher academic degree (e.g. MSc, PhD) relating to automotive, electronics, control, automation.
• Experience in hybrid powertrain area.
• A working knowledge of vehicle architectures, communication and components.
• Automotive Functional Safety knowledge.
• Experience of MATLAB/Simulink
• Project Management, Product Quality, DOORS or similar.
• Experience working within the AGILE Framework.

Annual Remuneration: Due to UKVI compliance requirements, we are obligated to state the annual gross salary (full-time) for this position. The salary range is between £35,000 - £40,000 and we will offer market-conforming remuneration taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
