We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to work in our friendly, well established, expanding GP Practice. The successful candidate will be required to provide a comprehensive clerical and receptionist service and must be available to work between 08.30am-6pm Monday-Friday..
Responsibilities
- General reception duties - greeting patients and professionals in person and on the telephone.
- Maintaining a high standard of confidentiality at all times.
- Organising, filing, scanning and maintaining patient records.
- Dealing appropriately with test results and other clinical data.
- Co-ordinate patients appointments, hospital letters and prescription requests.
- Call and recall of patients for health screening, immunisation clinics and chronic disease management clinics.
- Maintain a tidy reception desk, GP rooms and waiting areas.
- Providing information regarding practice services.
- Entries into patient's computer records.
- Liaising with pharmacists, nursing homes and other agencies.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- GCSE or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and organising skills.
- Previous experience of IT use in the workplace.
- Fully computer literate.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Flexibility to cover sickness and holidays if necessary.
Desirable Skills
- Experience - Medical receptionist, 1 year.
- Experience in a medical environment, in particular a GP surgery is desirable.
