Support Worker

- Salary:£12 per hour + Benefits
- Hours:16 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis
- Employment type:Part- Time, Flexible

We are on the lookout for Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.
Furthermore, as Support Workeryou will be responsible for:
- Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration
- Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live
- Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of
- Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
- Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities
- Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments
- Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
- To work in accordance with SeeAbility’s values
We are looking for someone who can devote to 16 hours per week and are willing to work on a shift rota basis, coveringmornings, evenings, and weekends.
Who will you be supporting?
At Exeter Support Service we support 4 adults with a range of disabilities including learning and physical disabilities, sight loss, complex health conditions including epilepsy, brain injury and autism.
People at Exeter location are a very active group who spend a lot of time getting out and about and engaging with the local community. We love going to the beach, picnic, pub, gym and going out for coffee and cake.
We also enjoy going out for fun activities such as Banner racing, boxing, photography, horse riding, drama, arts and crafts, cooking and of course meeting friends.

Responsibilities
- Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities
- Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
- To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
- To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for people we support
- Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records and support plans and function as a Key worker when required
- To support our people to maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet their individual needs
- To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to everyone's needs
