Job description

37.5 hours per week 39 weeks per year (term time only plus five training days)  - 8.15 am – 4.15 pm 

Oak Wood School is looking to appoint a Pupil Support Assistant to join our Behaviour Support team. The purpose of this role is to actively support staff in dealing with students with challenging behaviour, whilst maintaining high standards and following school routines. You will assist in supervising the seclusion room including break and lunch times. The successful candidate will support pupils on issues including behaviour, engagement and attendance. The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff and parents is imperative in ensuring that effective pastoral support is provided for all pupils. This role requires a confident and patient individual who has competent behaviour management skills and can work constructively as part of a team. Previous experience working with young people facing barriers to learning will be advantageous for the role.
