Job description
The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance live on stage at our heritage theatre site here in Covent Garden and reaching out to audiences across the UK and worldwide with our cinema screenings and content through other digital platforms. Central to our digital presence is our responsive website, which continues to grow and evolve, serving the digital needs of our audiences, customers and the ambitions of the organisation. The ROH's website accounts for over a third of the organisation`s revenue and continues to be a hub for Opera and Ballet fans from around the world.
We are now looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join the Digital Product and Analytics team to deliver technical expertise and define solutions for the ROH's digital technology strategy; ensuring that its digital products and services match the level of excellence required for a world class arts organisation. Reporting to the Head of Digital Product and Analytics, you will oversee the technical work of the digital product teams providing effective and inspiring leadership and supervision to help develop skills and capability.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced team player, who can lead by example, has strong communication skills and can build effective working relationships with a range of colleagues, suppliers and service providers. Adept at creating comprehensive technical specifications and managing ongoing technical documentation, they will also be able to demonstrate:
- Full stack technologies; Front-End technologies including React; Data architecture, semantic development, open standard; Cloud platforms, e.g. AWS
Please note, a working knowledge of our arts forms, or theatre/performing arts is not a pre-requisite for this role. We are actively seeking candidates who can bring the technical skills required and might be considering moving from another sector with transferable skills.

This will be a two-stage interview process. First round interviews will be held online w/c 18th March 2024. 2nd round interviews will follow onsite at ROH Covent Garden w/c 25th March 2024.
