Some Details of the role:
Reporting to Production Manager Job Objective As a CNC Machinist, you have responsibility of programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC lathes and milling machines in the Engineering Division using a variety of materials Summary of Responsibilities Personal Responsibilities To maintain and adhere to all company standards, policies and procedures, and conduct themselves in line with the company values and code of conduct.
To maintain and support the Senior Management Team, Operational Management team, and other departments within the business through excellent relations and communication methods. Job Responsibilities Plans machining by studying work orders,
engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, vices, vacuum plates, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and stock pushers. Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to company production and, quality standards and, procedures.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Maintains safe operations by adhering to health and safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; speaking to line manager to call for repairs.

The role may require travel to and from all UK sites, and Romania. To carry out any additional work as reasonably requested by your line manager. Experience, Qualifications & Competencies Job Skill Set Experienced Problem Solver Able to demonstrate sound technical engineering knowledge. Programming Fanuc control XYZCB Axis Understanding conversational programming for milling machines. Ability to characterize material machinability, tool holding, tool cutter presentation and select appropriate coolants for CNC manufacturing. Written and oral communication skills Interpersonal Skills Excellent attention to detail Organisational and time management skills Coaching and skills share.
Experience Needed: Time served apprenticeship Knowledge of working with PTFE a distinct advantage CMM experience would be an advantage Continuous improvement Tool & Fixture making Education and Qualifications HNC/HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Job Type:
