JOB TITLE: Aircraft General Operative

LOCATION: Stansted Airport

SHIFT PATTERN: 4 on 2 off

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week

SALARY: £25,905.00 per annum

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

Blue Handling provides exclusive Ground Handling services to the Ryanair Group and are currently recruiting  Aircraft General Operatives  to join our Ground Operations Team located at  Stansted Airport .

We have multiple positions available to support our ever-growing schedule at  Stansted Airport with improved pay package from £25,905 p/a with a guaranteed increase in April 2024, followed by a further guaranteed increase on completion of 1 years’ service.  

  These are exciting roles at the forefront of the Stansted operation with a financially secure airline, working to deliver a range of critical services to our aircraft and passengers.

 These roles are  all full-time and permanent positions .

Please note this is a shift-based role working around our busy flight schedule that will include early starts and late finishes on a 4 on 2 off shift basis, but we understand how important it is to have a good work/homelife balance so you can view your shift roster 1 year in advance!

With Blue Handling you will not just be unloading/loading bags on aircrafts, but you will be trained to become a dynamic Ground Handling Agent; working in a team who are responsible for the whole Aircraft turnaround process.

Duties include:

• Operation of equipment and vehicles around the airport to transport baggage and other items.
• An essential part of aircraft push-back procedures, trained on all aspects within a highly skilled team.
• Ensure Ryanair’s industry leading 25-minute turnarounds are completed safely.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers when required.
• Work as part of a team to ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations.
• Loading and unloading of baggage.

Requirements

• Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK-  including pre-settled status. 
• Ability to work as a dynamic team member in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Be physically fit and able to lift items for loading (up to 32kg).
• Full UK Driving License essential.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a full 5-year background check in order to obtain an airport ID. As part of the application process, candidates are required to disclose any unspent convictions as it may affect their eligibility for obtaining an airside pass.
