Job Title: Patient Services Assistant Department: Primary Care Hours of work: Full Time 37.5 hours Reporting to: Practice Manager Location: GP Practice, Boston We are seeking an enthusiastic Patient Services Assistant to join our established team and be a part of a company that really makes a difference. You will be based in our GP surgery and you will be responsible for providing a high-quality and efficient administration service, with the responsibility for inbound and outbound patient calls. This is an important position within our business as you will be the first point of contact for all our patients, you will be expected to provide a friendly and supportive environment for patients and visitors at all times. You will also be relied upon to provide an essential support function to the clinical and management teams, so that they can deliver the best care and provide the full range of NHS Primary Medical Services. You must work with autonomy and a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion, empathy and tact. Receive calls and assist and direct patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way. Project a professional, positive, and friendly image to patients and other visitors, both in person at Reception and via the telephone in Call Centre. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice to provide effective and appropriate patient care. Encourage effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies. Effective processing of patients’ repeat medications. General office procedures and financial administration. Records management including registration of patients and accurate recording of procedures relating to patient care. Efficient management of stock. Managing the surgery emails. Managing the surgery correspondence and scanning onto records etc. Ensuring all hospital letters are coded accurately onto the patient record. Actioning all tasks and forward scans directed to patient services. All administrative duties associated with medical reports and igpr. Duties associated with postage. Administrative tasks associated with baby discharges and post-natal appointments. You will be supported by, and work with, a diverse multi-skilled professional team of clinical and non-clinical friendly staff.
