Veterinary Surgeon - Staffordshire
- Salary: £65,000 per annum FTE (depending on experience) with a £5,000 welcome bonus
- Hours: 40 hours per week, over 4 days - Set day off (open to full-time & part-time applications)
- 3 x 8am-6pm shifts and 1x 8am-8pm
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (8am 12:30)
- No out of hours

Purovets are working with a group of two small animal practices, which have serviced the veterinary needs of companion animals in Staffordshire for over three decades. Both premises are accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme in both Core Standards and Tier 2 Small Animal General Practice. They also have achieved silver status in the Cat-Friendly scheme in both of our practices, something our associates are very proud of. The two practices are light and spacious and have recently been renovated. The main site has 2 theatres, which are glass linked. They also have a digital x-ray, in-house blood machines, ultrasound, dental radiography, and all the dental equipment needed.
Your day-to-day role would include 1 day of surgery, 1 day of consultations and 2 days of a mixture of both. If you do have a surgical bias or prefer consultations, they would be open to tailoring the frequency of surgery to match your preference. The ideal candidate for this role would be a surgeon who feels comfortable with all primary care duties. They may be able to support a surgeon with more advanced procedures if you feel comfortable with all routine primary care duties.
The practice is really proud of our closely-knit, supportive team. They are an experienced six veterinary surgeon team supported by a dedicated nurse front of house team. Investing in their associates and professional development is important to us and is actively encouraged. Two of their vets are working towards certificates in internal medicine and dermatology. They are a local practice and are passionate about building a great rapport with their clients and being part of the local community. Case continuity is important to them, where possible.
Both sites are based in lovely market towns just a 50-minute drive from the city of Birmingham. You will have easy access to the city or the more peaceful countryside surroundings. West Midlands airport is also just a 60-minute drive away.
