Position: Contracts Manager
Salary: Depending on experience
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland (Various construction sites across the UK)
Projects include: Commercial, fit-out, residential, hotel, education and more!
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join a leading construction company. The Contracts Manager will oversee the coordination, management, and delivery of projects, ensuring they meet high standards, are completed profitably, and maintain strong client relationships. This role involves involvement in all project phases, from pre-construction to post-construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in tendering processes and post-tender interviews.
- Implement quality, environmental, and health & safety management procedures.
- Manage health, safety, and welfare responsibilities in compliance with regulations.
- Oversee pre-construction management and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation measures.
- Create and communicate contract and construction programmes.
- Chair subcontractor pre-start meetings and attend progress meetings.
- Manage subcontractor and material procurement schedules.
- Monitor and track Requests for Information (RFIs) and liaise with the design team.
- Maintain understanding of employer requirements, design, and specifications.
- Cultivate positive relationships with clients, design teams.
- Provide leadership to the construction team.
- Liaise with contract surveyors on commercial management aspects.
- Prepare and present monthly progress reports to clients.
- Contribute to project handover documentation and maintain company image.
- Follow up on future work opportunities and complete subcontractor performance ratings.
- Implement HR management practices and contribute to corporate social responsibility initiatives.
- Participate in recruitment and selection processes and act as a mentor when required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction management processes and regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel as required.
