A dynamic opportunity for a skilled Purchasing Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager, to lead our Materials Team in establishing resilient supply chains. Maximizing quality and reliability while managing inventory and leveraging demand to achieve cost-effectiveness. This role involves day-to-day team management, strategic purchasing, and collaboration with production teams.
Who this job would suit: This role is ideal for an experienced Purchasing with strong components manufacturing experience for an SME. Adept at managing teams, understanding MRP data integrity, and possessing strong negotiation skills. Candidates with CIPS Level 4 and expertise in bespoke metalwork are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and manage the Purchasing and Stores teams, ensuring day-to-day efficiency.
- Oversee the Stores function, implementing improvements in material storage systems.
- Manage buyers, setting KPIs for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure quality, price, and timely delivery of raw materials.
- Evaluate and enhance purchasing strategies, maintaining optimal stock levels.
Requirements:
- Strong team leadership experience within Purchasing, Materials, Stores or Inventory
- Experience within SME Manufacturing
- Knowledge of Materials / Stock Management
- Excellent communication skills
Location: Hebden Bridge
Salary: circa £45k (negotiable)
