Fundraising Compliance Manager

Salary: Paid weekly, hourly rate equivalent to full-time annual salary of £43,000 to £50,000 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance.

Contract Type: Temporary Post for 6-9 months.

Working hours: This is a full-time post, 35 hours per week

Hybrid or Fully remote with occasional visit to the London office for key meetings.

Charity People are delighted to be recruiting for one of the UK's top Charitable organisations in London.

As a Fundraising Compliance Manager, you will be the focal point for compliance, providing guidance and advice to colleagues ensuring that they have sufficient controls and processes in place across all areas of fundraising engagement and activity. You will produce and deliver training and supporting documents to upskill staff and to ensure consistency across the team, as well as identifying areas for improvement and development. You will have an in-depth understanding and good practical working knowledge of data protection regulatory and legal frameworks. You will keep your knowledge up-to-date and will be confident in communicating with staff at all levels and with varying levels of understanding, in an engaging and accessible manner. Excellent organisation and project management skills will be required to ensure that projects, the day-to-day delivery and reporting of compliance are kept on track.

Key Responsibilities:

· To be the main point of contact for all fundraising and data compliance within Fundraising and Supporter Development department.

· Provide advice and guidance to staff and other stakeholders on data protection queries..

· Evaluate and apply compliance principles to various scenarios, to support colleagues to find solutions in a flexible way, whilst ensuring compliance best practice.

· Develop and maintain a culture of compliance across for the Fundraising team and across all Charity partners through training, guidelines, and policies.

· Manage compliance action plans; ensuring deadlines are met and progress is documented.

· Check all contracts, gift/grant agreements, data agreements and other data sharing mechanisms for compliance.

· Assess risks and complete the relevant impact assessments when required.

· Report back to Charity partners on compliance updates, actions, risks, and breaches.

· Project manage the compilation of policies and procedures to ensure GDPR, PECR, Code of Fundraising Practice compliance.

You will have the following experience and skills: ·

· Practical working knowledge of applying data protection principles (UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR)

· Experience in compliance or a similar function, ideally in a Charity context

· Experience in reviewing contracts, gift/grant agreements, data sharing, and non-disclosure agreements.

· Experience in writing policies and procedures.

· Ability to understand and interpret complex legislation whilst making legislation relevant, and easy to understand.

· Ability to challenge the status quo and seek alternative solutions.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build rapport and establish credibility quickly.

· Ability to multitask and be flexible to react to changing priorities.

· Excellent project management skills.

· Excellent attention to detail.
