Support Workers
Full time / Part Time / days and sleep ins
Location: Sheffield, S5
Pay: £12.10ph
We are looking for caring, energetic and enthusiastic people to join our team of support workers, for our new purpose built supported living flats in Highgreave Sheffield. It is in a beautiful setting in the North of Sheffield and has been created to support up to 5 young adults with learning disabilities, autism, behaviour and emotional distresses who are transitioning form child to adult support
They will have their own individual flats, additional communal area, the site will have its own large, private woodland area which will include a sensory walk. This will be a great place for young people to enjoy life and, with support develop their independence at a pace that works for them
The Role
- Supporting young adults with the transition from child to adult support
- Promoting and supporting their independence within their new home
- Supporting on a 1-1, 2-1 basis, dealing with behaviour and emotional distresses
- Going on bike rides, swimming, going out for meals, watching movies - especially horror films!
- Watching, playing and taking to football games
- Support with developing friendships and connecting with the local community
- Providing emotional support, cooking meals, learning life skills
Shifts Available
- We have short days, long days with sleepovers
- We're looking for people with flexibility to work on a rota basis that includes weekdays and weekends
- Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance to allow a healthy work life balance- something we're really passionate about!
