Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit a Health, Safety and Compliance Coordinatorto provide coordinated administrative support and assistance to the Health and Safety Advisor during the implementation of all Estates Services and STFC risk management systems.
You will act as the important interface for both internal and external stakeholders at all senior management levels employing the values of the organisation. All work must be carried out to a high standard and confidentiality maintained. You will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment whilst undertaking and responding to different administrative, health, safety and compliance tasks.
Key accountabilities
· Act as a secondary Department Safety Contact and assist the health and safety advisor, and other team members, in discharging the general duties of this role.
· Maintain an awareness of Estates Services activities and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policy and procedures, such as required by STFC codes and Estates Services Management Arrangement Procedures. Help to develop further internal processes and procedures.
· Carry out, or assist with, health and safety inspections and audits of Estates Services activities or processes to ensure compliance. This includes coordination of the Estates Services SHE Tour schedule.
· Assist line managers and individuals to source and arrange appropriate training, and to help maintain records of that training.
· Carry out or assist others with incident investigations (training will be provided).
· Help to coordinate closure of health and safety actions and recommendations from a variety of sources, including incident investigations, audits and SHE Tours.
· Gather and present relevant material at Estates Services or other meetings. Take minutes of such meetings and summarise actions where required.
· Become proficient in using relevant software systems including Technology Forge (CAFM), Evotix Assure (incident management), Totara (Training), TEAMS (asbestos) and SharePoint, and maintain the data within these systems.
· Provide limited cover for the Health and Safety Advisor as appropriate (eg: during annual leave).
Essential shortlisting criteria
You will ideally have a NEBOSH General or Construction certificate, or NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety an advantage, along with:
· An understanding of health and safety management systems
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
· Clear written and verbal communication.
