Our client is looking for an Account Manager for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities
The role is accountable for achieving a target forecast aligned to the defined sales region, this will be achieved through business retention, organic growth, and new business wins with special attention on:
- Growth in Market Share
- Presenting and specifying company products and services to existing customers
- Preparing action plans to monitor and prioritise
- Create propositions for customers based upon value rather than cost
- Follow-up on leads (coming from e.g. trade shows) marketing publications
- Ensure that the sales and profit targets are achieved
Efficiency
- Ensure efficient territory planning
Pricing / Customer Profitability
- Ensure the profitability of every customer
- Ensure that discounts are within agreed limits
Customer Management
- Monitor and prioritise upcoming tenders
- Coordinate internal teams of expertise in a number of disciplines to address the customer’s needs and issues
- Maintain and build relationships with existing and potential customers at all levels of the organisation
- Develop plans to increase intimacy with key customers and arrange visits by appropriate personnel
- Identify and resolve (potential) conflicts with customers
- Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts for customers
- Where necessary ensure the involvement of / coordination with Sales Management, Product Specialists, Internal Sales, etc.
- Present the core values in front of customers
- Sales Processes – ensure compliance with relevant sales processes and KPIs as defined by the Sales Manager / Sales Director
Customer Relationship Management
- Completion of CRM system to include;
- Diary planning and call recording
- Quotation follow up
- Opportunity Management
- Data Management
Requirement
- Degree educated preferably in a technical discipline, combined with sound commercial skills
- Business to Business sales skills, preferably gained within the industrial safety market
- Account Management experience is essential.
- IT literate and knowledge of Microsoft office
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence others
- Ability to handle / solve conflicts by adopting a win-win approach
- Customer Orientated
- Good presentation skills
- Ability to create and edit written material (customer communication, offers, etc.)
- Self-driven, proactive approach with a good ability to prioritise and work without close supervision
- Full and current driving licence
- Willingness to travel extensively on a flexible schedule, including some overnights.
- Other tasks as requested by your immediate line manager.
- Located within designated sales region, home office based
