It’s all for better public services. Better processes. And a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.

Swindon Borough Council has an aspiration to achieve net zero over the next 10 years. The ownership and operation of 12.5 MW of solar farms, 600 kW of rooftop PV, and installation of LED street lighting provide a great opportunity to build on. Further decarbonisation survey work is being undertaken on properties across the estate.

Our energy team comprises an Energy Manager and a Technical Officer. This post is fixed term for 2 years with a focus on water management. You’ll be working in an experienced and friendly team managing, energy procurement, compliance, energy saving and sustainability projects.

Your focus will be on the corporate water contract and spend with a view to driving savings through preventative maintenance and leakage management.

You will have excellent contract management skills and a proven ability to listen, explain and influence. You will be an enthusiastic, skilled subject matter expert with good report writing and presentation skills. You will have great organisational skills and be capable of managing your own workload and diary.

This role is 37 hours per week but we operate an agile working policy, allowing you to manage your own diary and work flexibly, including off-site/remote working.

So, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time on our journey. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change.
