About the role

Are you looking for a next step in your career? We are looking for a talented Scheme Delivery Project Manager to join our Highways team in Derby. This role will see you supporting the Site Leads and Senior Managers in the delivery of the allocated schemes within the Design, Build, Finance and Operate (DBFO) connect annual renewals, improvements and hand back programme for our Client "Connect Road Services".

** This is a flexible role, which will include working from home & travelling to various sites**

What you'll be doing

• Support the site leads and senior managers in the delivery of the allocated schemes within the DBFO Connect Annual renewals, improvements and hand back programme.
• Undertake the booking of road space and coordination of traffic management routes and diversion for schemes delivery programme.
• Liaise with Highways England and other authorities on the co-ordination of traffic management and diversion routes.
• Coordinate traffic management with other teams to best utilise the available road space.
• Contribute to the successful completion of the scheme delivery, supporting the day-to-day delivery of construction schemes.
• Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring contractors' attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary to ensure contractual arrangements are achieved.
• Update and monitor short-term programmes.
• Develop an awareness of budgets, cost control and cost recovery.
• Contribute to the safety and welfare of the general public, staff and supply chain through observance of the safety policy in conjunction with local HSE.
• Lead weekly team meetings to review performance on site.

Who we're looking for

• A successful track record of managing operational delivery projects (ideally within a construction environment).
• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of safe work systems to ensure these are followed accurately.
• Experience of implementing system improvements.
• Self-starter who can manage their own time, able to work independently without supervision.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent team player and team leader, with communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to confidently deliver presentations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel, MS Project / P6)
• CSCS Card and SMSTS qualified (training can be given).

About us

The Balfour Beatty Design, Build, Finance and Operate (DBFO) projects are three highway maintenance projects based in Leeds , Derby and Exeter covering the following routes: M1A1, A50 and A30/35. We deliver routine cyclic and winter maintenance, keeping our roads safe and running and deliver over a hundred renewal and repair schemes per year.
