The role of Teaching Assistant plays a vital role in supporting teachers and enhancing the learning experience for students. It's also a career that can be part time or full time, with lots of opportunity for progression and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering lessons.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources.
Supervise students during break times and other non-academic activities.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure the overall well-being and development of students.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Person specification:
Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is helpful but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Willingness to adapt and learn new teaching methods and strategies.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
