Job description

A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced cardiac nurse to join our well-established team at Queens Hospital Burton.

This team is a valuable source of knowledge and resource in Cardiology across the trust, implementing, managing and advising on the care of cardiac patients within the Coronary Care Unit.

It is essential that the candidate is a Registered Nurse, enthusiastic and up to date with current national and local guidelines as well as being an excellent communicator and team member.

The role will involve autonomous working and clinical decision making, implementing trust guidelines as well as providing expert support, knowledge and advice on potentially complex cardiac patients to medical and nursing staff across the trust.

A good level of cardiac experience /knowledge is crucial to this role.

They will be given the support and guidance to fulfil this role and it provides an excellent opportunity for personal development into a specialist nurse within CCU.

This post holder will work as part of the cardiac rehabilitation team, dealing with cardiac patients throughout their care pathway from acute hospital admission to providing advice and support after discharge.

This post will be responsible for their own caseload and will supervise the day to day workload of the cardiac rehabilitation team.

There will be some administrative responsibilities as delegated by the team leader.

This post has no direct budgetary responsibilities.
