Title : Associate Director Net-Zero Carbon and Sustainability Location : London (Hybrid WFH) Sector : Construction Salary: £70K-80K Description : Spencer Ogden is exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing construction consultancy in the UK. Specialising in a variety of sectors such as, education, healthcare, industrial, transport, retail and more. Their sustainability team are actively looking for an Associate Director level candidate to join their team. The role will involve a high degree of technical skills such as providing sustainable reports, handlining cash flow, managing buildings, managing resources, managing a team, keeping up to date with construction standards and and leasing with multiple engineering units. Furthermore, the role has been created to steer the organisations business and pipeline, where you will be crucial in developing new business ventures and partnerships. Responsibilities :
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborating with stakeholders, employers and C-Suite members
- Commercial: Engage with new markets, building on repeated business, project resource, provide business oversights, win work for the business, handling cashflow
- Support in delivering carbon reduction initiatives, in leading sustainable development and the management of carbon reporting
- Project Management: Oversee engineer and architectural units, deliver projects within budget
- Technical Understanding of Building Physics: IES, Part L, TM52, TM54
- Technical Understanding of Sustainability: NZC strategies, Sustainable report writing, BREEAM, ESG Requirements :
- An advanced degree in buildings engineering, preferably a master's, in structural, M&E engineering, architecture, or a related discipline. Chartered is a plus.
- At least 6-10 years of construction consultancy experience in the UK delivering ESG, Net Zero and Sustainability project for Buildings (new and existing)
- Extensive and clear experience in cultivating and nurturing stakeholder networks, demonstrating influencing skills, and fostering collaborative relationships. Proven track record of securing new projects or expanding on existing services
- To have directly managed a technical team before, written successful bids or unlocked private commercial opportunities and delivered the service
- Proficiency in industry-standard software tools and platforms relevant to construction, sustainability assessments, and technical project delivery for buildings and larger development projects (SAP , IES, PHPP and other)
