Job description
What you will do in your working day
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, Director of Inclusion and class teachers.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes for students and help monitor their progress.
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
- Assist class teachers with maintaining student records.
- Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
- Prepare and present displays of students' work.
- Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching.
- Work with students during exam periods as scribes or readers.
- Undertake other duties from time to time as the head teacher requires.
- Undertake first aid administration
Performance Measures:
- There will be an annual review of performance which will include an assessment of progress towards achievement of objectives and an overall assessment of performance.
Standards and Quality Assurance:
- Support the aims and ethos of the school
- Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance
- Uphold the school's behaviour code and uniform regulations
- Participate in appropriate staff training
- Attend relevant team and staff meetings
Apprenticeship Summary:
- You will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification across a total duration of 16 months!
- Training provider: LMP Group
- All online/remote learning, no classroom or college day release

During this teaching assistant apprenticeship you will promote self-belief, social inclusion and high self-esteem which will play an integral part to pupils’ wellbeing. You will become an essential part in the learning environment for the classroom teacher and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing and safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum and expand their knowledge. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the children's learning experiences, helping them to succeed academically and personally.

- Milestone 1. Keeping children safe in Education – (KCSIE Policy, child protection, safeguarding awareness, serious case reviews, health, safety and wellbeing legislation)

- Milestone 3. Child Development and Behaviours – (Child Development Practitioners, stages of development, Behaviour Management).
