Job description

• At least 2 years postdoctoral experience or equivalent in a related field of research, ideally involving CNS disorders.
• Strong professional track record evidenced by high quality publications.
• Sufficient specialist knowledge of molecular and cellular biology to develop/follow research programmes and methodologies - nucleic acid and protein extraction, handling and quality control, manipulation and analysis: Western blotting, ELISA, quantitative PCR, reverse transcription, expression analysis, 3’ and 5’ RACE.
• Experience with:
  • • • Analysis of mRNA
      • Mammalian cell culture systems (PC12, SH5Y5 cell lines)
      • Gene manipulation techniques and analysis (transient and stable transfection, siRNA, CRISPR, gene editing).
      • Imaging techniques – immunofluorescence, confocal, wide field microscopy.
      • Molecular cloning techniques (transformation, plasmid isolation, site directed mutagenesis)
• Knowledge of bioinformatic webtools
• Enthusiastic and conscientious
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with colleagues of all ages and expertise including industrial placement interns
• Ability to build contacts and participate in internal and external networks for the exchange of information and collaboration.
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to use initiative to identify areas for research, develop new research methods and extend the company research portfolio

The post offers the opportunity of working within a fast-paced lab environment. The successful candidate will be part of the scientific group, complemented by a strong managerial team who oversee the general administrative affairs of the company.

Salary to be negotiated, dependent on experience and qualifications. Start date ASAP from the beginning of 2024.
