Job description

We are recruiting for a Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our children and young people’s diabetes service.

You will be working alongside specialist nurses, who support children & young people from all over East & North Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas, in the home, schools and in the acute hospital setting.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with an interest in children & young people with diabetes who has both excellent clinical and communication skills and enjoys working within a team.

Although this is a full time post we are open to employing for part time hours of 22.5 and above.

The post holder is responsible for the provision of high quality, patient focused care.

Responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes and providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a course in the management of childhood diabetes, if currently without that qualification, and other training relevant to the post. Once the appropriate courses completed, you will participate and support the CYPD Out of Hours Service.

We will provide the training and support for the successful candidate.
