The growing Waste to Energy (WtE) market is one of our key industries for future company growth. To support this planned growth, we are looking to recruit a Specialist Service Technician in WtE / Smarton UK Team. This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work on the most technical products we have in our portfolio, so having previous experience of maintaining and servicing our cranes is a “must-have” requirement.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK.

You'll report to the Operations Manager.

The Role: 

As a Specialist Service Technician, you'll support the installation and commissioning to handover of WtE /SMARTON /Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes, training and technical support of local branch technicians and updating of WtE PLC/ Automation and inverter technology with Finland/East Kilbride WtE design team.

Key Responsibilities: 

• National support to Industrial Crane Service in the set up and commissioning of new waste to energy cranes/Smart cranes. Compilation and verification of final test and commissioning supporting data
• Monitoring following handover to support customer operations
• Technical support for the local branch Service Technicians
• Training and competence review of the local branch Service Technicians
• Liaise with the WtE customers and other National WtE Specialists
• Liaise with WTE Service Manager regarding the WTE customers nationwide
• Keeping up to date with any key WtE PLC/automation and inverter product changes and Global Tech Support 
• Lead Technician on any major modification/ modernisation the WtE cranes nationwide
• Absence cover for the other National WtE Specialists

What we require of you: 

• Electrically qualified (HNC Electrical preferable)
• Good working knowledge of Konecranes overhead cranes
• Good mechanical understanding / Fabrication skills
• Good understanding of process inverters and Siemens Simatic Manager
• Prepared to undertake training in UK/Finland.
• Willingness to regularly travel throughout the UK
• Spend considerable time away from home
• Work additional overtime hours when necessary
• Willingness to learn
• Self-motivated
• Good communication skills
• Safety conscious
• Good customer care skills
