Job Title: Chair of the Board, South Pennine Academies

South Pennine Academies is a charitable multi academy trust established in 2012. Based in West Yorkshire, they currently work with eleven primary and secondary converter and sponsored academies located in Calderdale, Kirklees and Oldham.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Chair of the Board. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in setting strategic direction, ensuring effective governance, and promoting our mission and values.

As our Chair, you will lead a passionate group of trustees, collaborate with school leaders, and engage with stakeholders to support our vision of providing outstanding education to the community.

To support the next stage of the Trust’s future development, we would particularly welcome applications from those with:

• Experience in a leadership role, ideally as a board chair or trustee.
• Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
• A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
• Financial acumen and understanding of budgeting.

However, most important is a commitment to improving the life chances of children and young people, regardless of background or ability.
