Job description
As a Face-to-Face Learning Support Volunteer you will help ensure students have a positive experience in all areas of their provision at Red Balloon of the Air, including education, wellbeing, community engagement and transition support. You will work closely with Red Balloon of the Air Staff to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with students, their families and the professionals supporting them.
Attend social reengagement groups and participate in activities such as art, cooking or playing games and general conversation with the students to aid in their engagement with their peer group.
Provide supervised 1-1 subject support to boost the confidence and provide an alternative view for a young person under the guidance of a teacher.
Assist teachers during group activities by interacting with the young people and carrying out ‘housekeeping’ tasks.
Attend and support during trips, work experience or higher education visits.
Support individual students during their online sessions.
You will not be expected to:
Engage formally with the family of the young person in the way the teaching staff do
To be unsupervised with a young person or group
To carry out the same role as a paid staff member
Provide/fund the session resources
