Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)
Location: 10 minutes from Lancaster, Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working in primary schools and supporting children on a one-to-one basis? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an SEN Teaching Assistant in Lancaster.
Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be providing one-to-one support to a child with SEN needs within a primary school setting. You will work closely with the child to help them access the curriculum, develop their skills, and achieve their full potential. This role requires patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting children with diverse learning needs.
Key Requirements:
A qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
Previous experience working with SEN children in a primary school setting.
Ability to provide effective one-to-one support and adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of the child.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Knowledge and understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
Experience with Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Makaton is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
