At Saint-Gobain Professional Services, we are looking for a Master Data Systems & Data Analyst to work with us on a hybrid basis out of our East Leake site.
This person will be a part of our enthusiastic Master Data team who strive to move our business forward and are proud to work for our us. In the Master Data team, we help our internal customers manage their Master Data to ensure that payments, manufacturing, invoicing all run correctly. Any incorrect or incomplete information can stop these processes and that’s where we come in.
In this exciting role, this person will allocate 50% of their time to support day-to-day Master Data tasks, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity. The remaining 50% of their time is dedicated to analysis and systems work, where they leverage data insights to drive improvements and optimize systems for enhanced performance.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure accurate and on time processing of all tasks within the job role and display the correct aptitude to work through problems or potential issues
- Populating, maintaining and championing our Master Data processes and systems, along various ERPs, WinShuttle and the Saint-Gobain Nazare portal, including timely processing of Master Data requests, data integrity checks and process improvements.
- Responsible for championing and communicating a UK wide Master Data strategy for all brands, ensuring roles and responsibilities of Master Data vs data producers and owners is well understood, as well as the value data brings is well understood.
- Implementing data processing templates either via WinShuttle or the appropriate data management platform, sometimes in conjunction with engineering and platform teams.
- Supporting the communication plan for releasing new Master Data processes across the organisation and ensuring a basic level of adherence
- Ensuring data quality is high, data is flagged for cleansing when needed and available for users across the new digital workstreams
- Driving culture change in Saint-Gobain putting data quality and governance in the heart of everything we do
- Be a proactive champion of seeking improvements to tooling, processes and Master Data management in general
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
Essential
- Confident in presenting information, proposals, and project updates to individuals at different levels of seniority within the organisation, including but not limited to C-suite executives, department heads, and team members
- Strong team player and creative thinking skills, and a desire to “make a difference”
- Have a customer first mentality ensuring a high level of customer service is reflected through the team
- Experience with Power BI and/or similar tool with transferable knowledge
- Demonstrable experience applying data quality principles to deliver high-quality data assets, especially when it comes to validation in the Master Data management process
- Demonstrable experience in identifying and resolving data quality issues, where appropriate passing onto the relevant data owners/producers
- Ability to work with data governance and lean process teams to ensure the data capture workflow is seamless
- Demonstrable experience with tools for data capture, such as WinShuttle
- Analytical mindset, and data analytics experience with a strong focus on assessing data quality
- Outstanding documentation skills, along with impeccable attention to detail
Desirable
- Knowledge of the data governance space
- Basic experience with databases
- Experience with data integration tools (i.e.: Azure Data Factory), automation of processes via such tools
- Exposure or experience with the Microsoft Azure Stack (i.e. Synapse or Purview)
- Experience with query, and scripting languages (i.e.: SQL, python, R) to promote efficiency improvements in the team
- Ability to work under Agile, ideally Scrum as part of a development squad
