Transport UK Rail Replacement provides a specialist service to the UK Rail Industry when train services are disrupted by planned engineering work or emergency incidents. Our highly experienced rail replacement team offer a fully managed service for the provision of coaches, buses, small vehicles, and taxis.

The Role 

We have an opportunity as an Operator Support Assistant based in London. 

The successful candidate will support the Operator Account Manager in the overall recruitment and performance of bus & coach suppliers and support general administration for GTR Rail replacement contract. 

Duties Include 

• Recruiting suitable and sufficient suppliers to meet business needs. 
• Manage the production of an operator performance table, ensuring the operator account manager has the required information to measure performance. 
• Ensuring all legally required supplier paperwork is kept up to date. 
• Ensure that an up-to-date list of safe bus & coach pickup points is maintained and issue operational updates to suppliers and customers when required. 
• Assist all departments within AAS to recruit adequate bus and coach suppliers to meet business needs. 

The Candidate 

• GSCE Examinations or equivalent or Tertiary qualifications / certifications in relevant subjects. 
• Organised and process driven. 
• Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills. 
• Experience in scheduling is essential.
• Experience in supplier management, preferably within the transport sector. 
• Geographical knowledge of the United Kingdom and specific knowledge of London Rail Network is advantageous 
• Flexibility to travel across the UK to visit customers and suppliers as required, often at short notice. 
• A full UK driving licence is a requirement for this role.
