We're recruiting for a forward-thinking Assistant Manager - International Logistics who will be responsible for supporting the management of third-party logistics organisations and shipping and transport companies contracted by the group.
- Supporting the management of third-party logistics organisations and shipping and transport companies and managing their performance in line with agreed SLA/ SOP.
- Owning the international logistics process (SOP/ SLA / Framework Contract), ensuring these are kept up to date, continuously improved and effectively communicated to all stakeholders, reflecting any legislative or commercial changes.
- Ensuring effective communications are maintained with all key stakeholders and works promptly to resolve issues as they arise (e.g. geopolitical issues that may affect shipping schedules or lead to delays in the supply chain).
- Playing a key role in evaluating the operational effectiveness of the service providers, working with operating companies and managing ongoing performance through regular review meetings with all parties, to ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Acting as a team leader and supporting the functional management of the analysts in the team, whilst supporting the International Logistics Manager to ensure all operational responsibilities are delivered effectively and that team members receive the appropriate level of direction.
- Supporting the development of data initiatives and collaborating with internal stakeholders (e.g working with the Group Sustainability Team on new initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint/emissions).
- The ability to effectively analyse information, conceptualize, define operational challenges, and present findings and potential solutions to key stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or significant proven experience in an international logistics or freight management role in a large import volume organisation (3pls/ Carrier) ideally with a focus in the retail sector.
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines whilst still maintaining the high level of accuracy required to present content to directors
- Strong planning and organisational skills, proven experience in stakeholder management and a resilient work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to support the broader team in their day-to-day work and their development.
