Brief Job description Care Assistant / Carer:
Perform a role that goes beyond mere assistance, merging into the daily lives of individuals who seek to maintain a level of independence at home, despite various challenges that may come with age, disability, or other needs.
Respect for Autonomy: Domiciliary care often involves a careful balancing act of providing necessary support while respecting the individual’s autonomy and navigating decisions within the comfort of their home.
Personal Care and Hygiene:Providing assistance to ensure that the client keep their personal hygiene up to standard by doing tasks such as running a bath for them, laying out clothes, washing and ironing, arranging a trip to the hairdressers and community activities.
Skills:
Good Communication and Listening Skills
Very organised and pays attention to detail
Punctual with time
Previous experience
Full Driving Licence and own vehicle
Good interpersonal skills
Communication: being able to communicate effectively with patients, staff and relatives, and being friendly and cheerful.
Compassion and sensitivity: being caring and kind, and willing to do personal care tasks for patients.
Team player: being able to work in a team but also use their own initiative, and follow instructions and procedures.
Willing to work hands-on with patients: being comfortable with physical contact and patient care techniques, and reading vital signs.
Patience: being able to cope with stressful and challenging situations, and having emotional intelligence.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Mandatory Training for Healthcare Assistants – CPD Accredited CSTF Aligned Online Courses
or, Healthcare Assistant Diploma - CPD Accredited
or, NCFE CACHE level 2/3 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services
In addition the following will be advantageous:
Healthcare Assistant : Healthcare Assistant - CPD Accredited Certificate
Healthcare qualification, such as BTEC or NVQ
At least 2 years working experience as Carer / Carer Assistant is required:
