WHAT TO EXPECT
The Opportunity:
This role will support planning, delivery and co-ordination of specific vehicle projects as a Vehicle Programme Manager.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Lead / support on projects and workstreams; from scoping to delivery, cross-functional engagement and stakeholder management ensuring project delivery to required time, quality and cost targets
- Management and governance of changes and ensuring alignment of the programme content (e.g. PDL’s, TIB’s, standard passport documents etc)
- Use wider business experience to guide their own projects and share learning with functional peers across programmes
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager and Programme Group Lead in connection with their job
- Responsible for the governance of the programme. This includes the PCDS framework of deliverables, preparing both the gateway papers and the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) memos.
- Preparation of the gateway papers and QBR memo will be done in conjunction with the Group Scrum Master, Senior Programme Manager, Programme Group Lead and Programme Chief.
- Responsible to coordinate, create and cascade the objectives and the key results for every product increment in line with the critical path, PCDS framework and effective risk and issue management.
- Ensure the programme has a credible P6 schedule and driving the planning of work based on the critical path. Establishing pre-emptive and effective risk management to avoid issues
- Lead sprint planning and set the sprint objectives at the group level
- Facilitating stakeholder collaboration where necessary
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Proven Leadership experience ideally gained in end-end Project Management in a major multi-year, complex, cross-functional programme within the automotive industry (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable history of high performance based on end of year assessments
- Experience leading delivery and integration across PCDS programme lifecycle, employing pre-emptive risk and issue management
- Extensive knowledge of change management processes with an Agile framework
- Knowledge and experience of working in a delivery based team from strategy through to engineering and into launch
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity to pilot new business initiatives, whilst utilising existing programme management skills
- Strong track record of delivering process development and transformation projects with problem solving skills
- Experienced at building effective cross functional relationships with strong stakeholder management skills at all levels
- Evidence of leadership skills and ability to drive positive business outcomes
- Working knowledge of Agile philosophies and Scrum framework
- Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation
- Direct line management responsibility for teams of Jaguar Land Rover staff and / or contract labour
Desirable:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Trained as a Project Manager (e.g. APMP or Prince2) or product owner
- Fundamental knowledge of JIRA
