Job description

We have a brand-new opportunity as a Lead Research Nurse at the MND Association. You will be at the forefront of creating and leading our Research Nurse Network programme within the MND Association.

This is a home-based role with travel requirements to Care Centres & Networks across England, Wales and Northern Ireland as required.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that everyone diagnosed with MND has access to the opportunity and support to take part in clinical research. To champion the diverse needs of people living with MND by working in a manner that facilitates inclusion and collaboration, within and beyond the MND Association. You will work with our Services & Partnerships Directorate, working closely with our research directorate and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote our mission.

Key Responsibilities:


What are we looking for?

Expertise in Nursing: You will need to hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, coupled with considerable experience in clinical research.

Team Building Experience: You will develop a recognised network of research nurses with specific skills, expertise, and objectives. Experience of building nurse teams is essential.

Leadership Abilities: We need someone with strong leadership skills. You will drive purpose and direction within complex organisational structures.

Knowledge of Clinical Research: You will have comprehensive knowledge of UK clinical trial, regulations and experience in supporting clinical research capacity and infrastructure. Experience in neurodegeneration or life-limiting illness studies is preferable.

Service Development: Proven experience of service development and implementing large scale change. Ensuring continuous improvement in our approach.

Excellent Communication: You will be translating complex information to various audiences and representing our organisation at national and international levels.
