Job description

Role:
- Classroom Support Assistant - SEN School
- Type of Work: Full Time or Part Time
- Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
- Pay: £80.92 - £92.56 per day
- School: specialist provision for autistic children and young people, aged 3 -19 years, with a range of abilities and differences associated with the autism spectrum.

Requirements:
- The successful candidate will have worked as a teaching assistant in a school before, or have relevant SEN experience in either healthcare or another sector, which they can transfer over to an education setting.
- The school are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful individuals to join a dedicated and hardworking team of specialised support staff.
- They are looking for people who will enjoy being effective in supporting students with complex needs and who have an appreciation of the positive attitude required to encourage independence in their students.
- Be able to engage with children and enforce positive behaviour
- Have worked with children or adults with special needs before
- Be able to challenge children when they display negative behaviour
- Be a qualified teaching assistant or have a transferable skill
