Walmer, Kent | United Kingdom

Job description

Our medium sized Citizens Advice service is looking to recruit someone who has some financial experience to oversee the budget and the publications of quarterly management reports through Quickbooks.

What will you be doing?

The role of the treasurer is to ensure that all the finances and the supporting financial control systems are kept in order. The treasurer is not the bookkeeper. She or he does not hold or maintain the financial records nor is she or he the sole custodian of the cheque book. The treasurer must delegate day-to-day financial management to the bureau manager or other staff.

Main duties and responsibilities:

What are we looking for?

What difference will you make?

We have one major funder but we anticipate a reduction next year in the light of local authority cuts. We are a robust organisation and we can often attract grant funding for short-term projects. Our financial systems need constant attention and we are looking for someone to put procedures in place to make the best of limited financial support.

Other trustees have limited or no financial experience and would appreciate a new trustee to take the lead in the monitoring of income and expenditure.

Before you apply

You are welcome to contact us to arrange a telephone chat or an informal visit with the Chairman, in the first instance.
