As the CHSCP Strategic Data Analyst you will lead on the provision of high-quality intelligence providing advice, analysis and interpretation to the City and Hackney Safeguarding Children’s Partnership. Using expert knowledge, the post holder will develop contemporary threat assessments to strengthen decision making, improve scrutiny and enhance tactical decision making of safeguarding partners and relevant agencies of the CHSCP. The post holder will make a real and demonstrable difference to safeguarding activities across the City of London and Hackney.

Qualification

A degree level qualification or equivalent ability as evidenced by experience of working at a high level of qualitative and quantitative analysis, conceptual and practical thinking.

Experience

Significant experience of providing specialist / complex data analysis and reporting with a successful record of using analysis in a complex organisational setting to drive improvement.

Experience in successfully overseeing and managing a variety of research projects and achieving targets.

Extensive experience of utilising multiple sources of information to provide specialist data analysis, interpretation and presentation, utilising spreadsheets, maps and analytical tools.

Experience of managing complex relationships and achieving results.

Experience of working collaboratively to effect change with senior managers or commissioners

Experience and proven ability of writing succinct reports and presenting complex data and information in a wide range of formats.

Experience of direct involvement in the preparation and / or presentation of documents and reports and the ability to prepare summary performance information and analysis to inform decision making, practice and policy.

Experience of partnership work including private, statutory, voluntary and community sector; recognising and taking account of organisational differences in structure and working practices.

Knowledge

A good understanding of the safeguarding agenda for children and young people, including local, regional and national context. Understands the role of City and Hackney Safeguarding Children Partnership.

Expert knowledge of data management and techniques; demonstrated knowledge in understanding and using advanced ICT software which enables the user to manage complex datasets, visualise multiple large datasets and overlay data sources.

Knowledge of data security and confidentiality issues.

Working knowledge of database design, structure, administration and associated tasks and responsibilities.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent analytical skills. Ability to gather information from wide ranging sources and analyse thoroughly to make recommendations that inform decision making.

A passion for using intelligence tools to provide meaningful data analysis; ability to construct and effectively communicate data stories using data visualisation techniques and narrative storytelling.

Ability to think analytically, to create and use concepts to explain and interpret situations, link pieces of information, create and communicate a rich pool of ideas to positively impact on practice.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, enabling communication orally and in writing with people at all levels, including the ability to adapt communication methods to suit the audience.

Ability to work accurately in a pressurised environment, adapt rapidly, manage competing priorities and deliver on service provision, and projects within changing circumstances and priorities.

Demonstrated consultative, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills including the ability to deal with complex issues in a sensitive and appropriate manner.

An ability to manage competing demands, make decisions, work methodically, think systematically, achieve targets and co-ordinate own workloads to meet agreed timescales.

An understanding of relationship management and the capacity to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships. The ability to use initiative and approach individuals and agencies in order to obtain additional information.

A commitment to safeguarding children and contributing to partnership activities to meet statutory and professional responsibilities with regard to safeguarding children.
