The Rapid Emergency and Acute Care Therapy Team (REACTT) based at Barnet Hospital has an opening for a senior therapist to join our dynamic, innovative and forward thinking team. The team provides rapid and comprehensive assessment to patients in the Barnet Hospital Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre, Adult Assessment Unit and Same Day Emergency Care clinics. We are looking to recruit a motivated Band 6 Occupational or Physiotherapist preferably with experience in this setting to provide specialised assessment and intervention, with a keen focus on admission avoidance, frailty, quality improvement & providing excellent patient assessment & care. We are a trans-disciplinary, supportive & dynamic team who work closely with the wider MDT in the emergency department and acute medicine hub to provide comprehensive assessment and often complex discharge planning. Additionally OT’s support the team with more specialist equipment provision and comprehensive cognitive assessments, while our Physiotherapists are responsible for the respiratory care of patients within our clinical area. The successful candidate should be forward thinking and pro-active with excellent organisational and clinical skills to work within a fast-paced setting. They will be required to work autonomously and within a team, be flexible, support caseload management & to facilitate timely discharges in alignment with SDEC & acute medicine principles. There are opportunities to supervise junior staff or therapy support workers & participate in Quality Improvement projects or audits. Good communication and documentation skills are required.
