Job description

What you will do in your working day

Duties: 

• To support day to day operations throughout the store
• To be the first point of contact for the public - delivering excellent customer service
• To support Store Management Team to ensure H&S compliance throughout the store
• Ensure H&S is adhered to in the store including but not limited to manual handling, expectational hygiene standards and catering services support (full training will be provided)
• To support GDPR compliance throughout the store with robust records and admin processes
• Develop understanding and support the store management team in the generation of stock including furniture and homewares.
• Develop understanding and support the store management team with stock with furniture bookings for customer, collections, and rotation
• Develop understanding and support the store management team with new Gift Aid sign ups and existing Gift Aiders
• Working with the wider Ecoms team to support sales through various selling platforms, stock processing, order fulfilment and merchandising of product
• Supporting the in-store catering service to include by not limited to taking food order, serving customer, cleaning tables cleaning food preparation areas and supporting food preparation (full training will be given
• Work alongside volunteers providing support through buddying and coaching to help them to achieve Compton Care core values and behaviors
• Support in the rotation of stock to other retail stores.
• Retail Cost Control
• To support Store Management team to manage the day to day running of the store Including but not limited to: processing donations and new goods, replenishment of the sales floor, providing excellent customer service, processing sales at the till, maintaining a clean and tidy store and supporting the management team
• Work alongside the store management team to understand how to ensure effective internal and external providers are cost effective and compliant as per Compton requirements
• Support the store management team to reduce stock loss
• Support the store management team with stocktakes as an when required.

Customer service:

• Be an ambassador for Compton Care by providing excellent customer service at all times
• To support Store Management team to manage and update the in-store promotions and incentives to drive income and retail excellence
• To deal with customer enquiries and question professionally and adequately
• To support the in-store catering team with day to day running of the café where required (full training given)
• Ensuring the store is fully stocked, with the right product and that stock is correctly labelled.

The training you will be getting

• You will be allocated a Skills Coach who will work with you to achieve Level 2 Retailer Standard delivered in your workplace.
• Maths and English Functional Skills, if required.

• Possible permanent employment
• Progression to a level 3 qualification.
