Help us make a difference as a Maintenance Technician at our MRF in Ford.
A quick look at the role.
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of the day to day site maintenance. Working in partnership with the production team, the Maintenance Technician will ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner and to the required standard.
Monthly Shift Pattern:
Week 1: 6am - 4pm
Week 2: 9am - 7pm
Week 3: 11am - 9pm
Week 4: 8pm - 6am
The Biffa division you’ll be supporting.
Within Resources & Energy we focus on the treatment, recycling and disposal of waste. It provides a number of treatment services for those materials that can be recovered and landfill disposal for those that are not suitable for recycling or energy recover.
Our MRF’s are four automated facilities capable of handling 470k tonnes per annum of mixed recycling (this is equivalent to the household recycling of 4 million people). The facilities sort dry mixes recyclables ready for use as secondary raw materials in manufacturing processes.

• You will undertake the delivery of day to day planned and reactive workload or provide technical expertise.
• To undertake all prioritised and planned maintenance work, ensuring that tools, parts and materials are fit for purpose and production downtime is minimised whilst also upholding and exceeding standards of safety.
• To ensure stores systems are maintained to the highest standards and that critical parts are available.
• To ensure that all plant and equipment on sites is modified and improved, as necessary, to maximise equipment availability and performance whilst still achieving output levels required to meet production demands. To ensure that all modifications or changes to equipment are in line with PUWER machinery safety regulations.
• To undertake engineering project work and assist with new installations or refurbishments.
• Have an active involvement in RCA of equipment and the subsequent improvements.
• To provide engineering expertise to the Plant Manager and production teams.
