Teaching Assistant

Start date: March 2024.

Location: Leyland.

Contract type: Long-term (temp-perm).

Working hours: Full-time (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:00pm).

Pay rate: £11.85-£12.50 p/h.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant role in a well-established Specialist Provision in the Leyland area. This full-time role is available from ASAP.

The ideal candidate must hold a creative approach to learning and must cater to students with complex needs including social, emotional and mental health issues. Candidates must feel comfortable with 1-1 support as well as supporting small class sizes. You will be expected to help deliver an innovative curriculum and must be able to deal with potential challenging behaviour in a calm, controlled manner. Candidates do not necessarily need previous school experience; you must be resilient, solution focussed and must hold a genuine passion to support children with additional needs.

Desirable qualities:

This excellent Specialist Provision holds a pool of skilled professionals who offer a nurturing environment for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues as well as Educational Healthcare Plans. A quiet setting surrounded by gardens, this school provides a calm feel, supporting development, creativity and opportunities. Their structure of holding core subjects in a morning followed by optional subjects in the afternoon is their key to happy, safe and successful pupils.
