Job description
The CAD Designer translates handmade sketches into Illustrator drawings and prepares renders which serve as guidelines for the shoe and accessory factories. They will also be responsible for the CAD designing of prints, surface textiles and hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate design requests into drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) programmes (Illustrator and Photoshop) and occasionally by hand;
- Responsible for creating new patterns for fabric, leather prints and technical hardware drawings;
- Responsible for print placements;
- Produce visual presentations or any other graphic content for the Product Development team or other cross-functional teams, when requested;
- Create and upload PLM colour swatches
- Liaise with external Graphic Designer for sample images retouching;
- Upload retouched images into the PLM system after BOM check against image;
- Responsible to create rendering & retouch images to support PD activities;
- Any other tasks as requested
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Advanced proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proficient in Photo editing and Graphic Design
- Exceptional drawing ability and CAD skills; ability to visualise designs
- Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to build relationships and network easily, both internally and externally
- Ability to prioritise tasks and ensure delivery of results within tight deadlines
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- High level of finesse and excellence required in the delivery of all tasks.
Desired:
- Italian language skills
- Footwear and pattern cutting knowledge
