Job description

What you will do in your working day

• Use factory hand tools (i.e grinders, drills)
• Mig and Tig Weld
• Operate large machinery (ie Lathes, Guillotines, Pressbrakes)
• Read engineering drawings
• Assisting skilled engineers

The training you will be getting

• You will be doing a Metal Fabrication Aprenticeship
• You will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) at the end of the 4 years
• Your training will take place at East Surrey College 1 day per week

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

• You may wish to develop your skills and become a skilled sheet metal fabricator
• You may wish to become a machine operator (i.e Lathe, Milling, Laser)
• You may wish to become a machine programmer and continue your learning to develop CNC programs
