Job Purpose
Working as part of the People Development team, for the Group Apprenticeship Manager, the role holder will support with the development and growth of apprenticeships across the group.
The role holder will be accountable for supporting apprentices throughout their programme and building effective relationships with stakeholders, colleges and training providers, leading to successful achievement of their apprenticeships.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the co-ordination of selecting and enrolling new apprentices across the group
- Effectively manage your allocated caseload of apprentices across the group to ensure all apprentices complete their programmes and pass their End Point Assessments
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the group and provide regular updates and reports
- Build and maintain relationships with colleges and training providers to ensure the highest levels of service are provided and apprentices achieve their qualifications
- Identify ways to improve current working methods and implement efficiencies to any of the processes
- Raise any issues or concerns with the Group Apprenticeship Manager and identify solutions to problems
- Keep abreast of latest external thinking and best practice and share expertise with the People Development team to enable continuous improvement of our apprenticeship programmes
- Adhere to any processes and procedures set out in contracts and legal agreements.
- Become an ambassador for Halfords promoting all career opportunities
Key Skills/Experience
Essential:
- Experience or background in Garages/ Autocentres/ Cycling/ Cy-Tech
- Passionate about people
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes including Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a high standard
- Ability to engage with colleagues, communicating with them confidently and effectively about apprenticeships
- Comfortable presenting to large groups
- Experience in building relationships
- Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a wider team.
- Have commercial awareness, strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues quickly and provide solutions in a timely manner
- Display the Halfords Values at all times
- Ability to stay away from home on occasions
- Clean UK driving license
- Undertake a DBS check
Desirable:
- Knowledge on Apprenticeships / Government funded training programmes
- Previous experience in a training and development team/role
