We are seeking a postdoctoral epidemiologist with experience of epidemiological data analyses to join our team in the Cancer Epidemiology Unit. You will be joining our collaborative research team of epidemiologists and statisticians, conducting innovative epidemiological research on risk factors for non-communicable diseases based on large prospective cohort studies and consortia. The main focus of the project are to assess how dietary proteins and associated indicators, including circulating proteins found in the blood, may influence the development of common age-related diseases such as different subtypes of stroke, hip fractures and vascular dementia, with the aim to identify future prevention and treatment strategies. To be considered you will hold (or be close to completion of) a PhD in epidemiology, nutritional epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, medical statistics or other relevant subject. You will also have an excellent understanding of statistical analysis of biomarker data and a range of epidemiological and statistical concepts and techniques (e.g. prospective and cross-sectional study designs, and linear, logistic and Cox regression models). Experience of analysing dietary exposures or biomarkers, particularly omics data, in relation to risk of non-communicable diseases would be desirable. The post is full-time (although part-time is considered) and fixed term for 3 years. The closing date for applications is noon on Thursday, 21 March 2024.
