WHAT TO EXPECT

The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible for delivering the transformation of process capability at pace within Final Assembly at Solihull plant.  The role will also drive continuous improvement in the percentage of Right First Time (RFT), First Time Though (FTT) and Divert Free Vehicles (DFV) across the Final Assembly process.  This will require strong leadership of cross functional teams and well-developed Problem-Solving skills, backed up by specific technical knowledge of vehicle and automotive manufacturing systems.

The role also requires a strong understanding of Process Engineering and Lean Manufacturing Tools and Techniques.  This includes the creation and maintenance of GSPAS processes, delivery & install of tools, jigs & fixtures, quality, data analysis and reporting of major issues, deployment of failure mode avoidance tools, support of cross-functional teams in the resolution of those issues on projects and the tracking of resolution through to completion.

You’ll be part of a team of engineers, the role requires collaboration across functions to ensure we have established compliance with the BOP to deliver processes that meet our basic minute value (BMV) and quality targets. It is also important for us to share best practice across the platforms and between manufacturing plants to ensure we employ the best processes available wherever possible.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

• Drive a continuous improvement mindset into your team, striving for operational excellence in all scorecard KPI’s.
• Co-ordinate the management and update of any process related data in any manufacturing execution systems – GMES, Synatec, DC tool, PV Scan, build card and ensure in place for any physical builds on plant from HTFB onwards.
• Procedural compliance – control plan alignment, process verification and seamless change management.
• Ensure application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles in problem solving solutions and kaizen opportunities.
• Involvement in allocating all work through the development and monitoring of the team’s objectives with regular progress reviews and performance conversations.

• Relevant previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques
• Proven problem solving skill & experience
• Project management experience
