JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager
DEPARTMENT: Sales (Hybrid working)
REPORTING TO: Chief Sales Officer
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Seek and win new strategically important business from new customers for the businesses full range of Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY TASKS:
An experienced technical sales professional with a proven track record working within the Contract Electronics Manufacturing Industry (CEM), specializing in selling PCBA, Cable Assembly, and Box Build manufacturing services or with an electronic component manufacturer.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to converse with Purchasing Managers & buyers as well as designers, engineers, and manufacturing personnel, while also offering technical support and advice on best methods and practices.
Fully conversant with manufacturing processes, both manual and automated, related to PCBA and Cable assembly.
Able to understand drawings and interrogate customer BOMs.
Proactively generate and pursue targeted and strategic new business opportunities.
Become fully conversant with manufacturing processes, both manual and automated, related to PCBA and Cable assembly.

Attend NPI and contract review meetings for new business introduction.
Use EES to process and quote customer inquiries.
Liaise and work closely with Estimating, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations departments on customer Technical, Material, Quality, or Production issues.
Quality and Environmental:
Compliance with the requirements of the documented business management systems through adherence to Quality and Environmental processes, procedures, and policies.
Participation in audits as required (internal, Customer, and certification).
Health and Safety:
Compliance with the latest revisions of the Company’s Health and Safety Handbook, Policy, Health and Safety at Work Act, and any other relevant publication.
Training, Learning, and Development:
AUTHORITY:
Upon agreement with the Chief Sales Officer
REPORTING/SUPERVISORY STRUCTURE:
Reports directly to the Chief Sales Officer and works with the businesses Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current and valid Driving License
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Computer literate, must be experienced in the use of Word & Excel. Previous experience with MRP software is useful.
Enthusiasm and determination to meet targets.
Negotiation skills, determination, and persuasiveness.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Confidence to present to internal staff and customers.
An ability to manage workloads and exercise discretion and demonstrate judgment in decision making.

Ability to identify new customers and new markets for our manufacturing services.
A good working knowledge of key suppliers of cable, components, PCB materials.
EXPERIENCE:
Ideally, a proven track record working within the Contract Electronics Manufacturing Industry (CEM), specializing in selling PCBA, Cable assembly, and Box Build manufacturing services.
Technical Sales experience in the electronics market.
